We offer the following Services:


The Glen Innes Community Centre is an Information and Referral Centre.
The Centre is for the residents of Glen Innes Severn Local Government Area.
We cater for a range of community groups and activities.
We can provide welfare assistance to those in need and provide Tax Help annually.
We welcome you to refer to our Information Brochure Library.
Enjoy a 25c cup of coffee or tea and have a chat to our lovely volunteers.

Assessment and Referral:

  • Staff may be able to link you up with the appropriate services and or agencies.

Services:

  • Energy Accounts Payment Assistance.
  • Telstra Assistance program.
  • Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Scheme Claim Forms.
  • Faxing/photocopying and scan to email is also available at a low cost.
  • Collection point for The Senior newspapers www.thesenior.com.au  

Hire:

  • The Community Centre offer an office and hall for short term hire.
  • The Hall can accommodate up to 100 people
  • The Hall can be used for a variety of functions.
  • Also for hire are trestle tables and chairs.
  • Our fees are very reasonable.

Training:

  • We can accommodate your training requirements. We Offer:
  • Whiteboard.
  • TV and PowerPoint facilities.
  • Urn, tea and coffee facilities.
  • Rear parking and disabled access.

Visiting Services:

  • North Northwest Community Legal Service.

Tax Help:

  • If you need help lodging your tax return, you maybe eligible for the Tax Help program.
  • Tax Help is a network of ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers.
  • They provide a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns.
  • Tax returns are completed online using myTax.
  • Tax help is available from late July to the end of October every year.
  • Contact the Community Centre to book in or for further information.

Broadband for Seniors Kiosk:

  • Offering free access to computers, the internet and training to seniors.
  • Providing a safe, secure and friendly environment that is non-threatening to seniors.

Learning online:

  • Through Broadband for Seniors, you can access free online computer tutorials.
  • The online tutorials can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection.
  • The BFS Online tutorials are available for you to work through from your home.
  • You can also work with a volunteer tutor at a kiosk.
  • Before using the Online tutorials, you do need to create a free account.
  • A volunteer tutor can help you with this.

Facilities:

  • The Community Centre has a comfortable reception area where you are welcome to visit for a rest and a cup of tea or coffee.
  • Donations are required to ensure the continuance of this free service.
  • Baby Change Area.    
  • We provide a change table and a nappy disposal unit.
  • We offer a comfortable semi private area for breastfeeding.
  • Toilets
  • We offer clean, public toilet facilities at the Community Centre.
  • We have a toilet for people who are disabled.
  • Please supervise children at all times.
